HARPA is the Holiday and Residential Parks Association, the trade body for holiday parks and residential park homes. In January they held their two-day Conference 2026 at the QEII Centre (often called the QE2 Centre) in Westminster, and asked me to be their conference photographer in London, covering all of it in photos and video.

The brief had three parts. Photograph the speakers, the exhibitors and the delegates. Cover the MP tours of a holiday home they had set up outside. Then film the whole event and cut it into a highlights reel.

The highlights reel

As well as the photos, I filmed both days and edited a short highlights reel that HARPA can use on their website, on social media and when promoting next year's conference.

The part of the job I'll remember is the holiday home. HARPA had a full size unit put up on the cobbles right in front of the QEII Centre, with Westminster Abbey behind it. Over the two days they invited MPs to come and look round it, to show them what a modern holiday home and park home is actually like and to make the case for changes to the law that affects them.

I followed the tours inside, which meant working in a tight space with small groups moving from room to room. I kept it natural and stayed out of the way, catching the conversations as they happened rather than stopping people to pose.

Photographing the keynotes as a London conference photographer

Inside the QEII Centre, the main hall was packed for a full programme of keynote talks on all sorts of subjects. Stage lighting at conferences is always a mix of bright spots and a dark audience, so I shoot from several positions: from the back to show the size of the room, from the side for close ups, and low down so the HARPA logo sits behind the speaker.

Awards, exhibitors and the drinks reception

The conference also included the Chair's Awards 2026, and I photographed each winner on stage as well as group shots afterwards.

Between sessions I worked round the exhibition, photographing the companies that had stands to promote their services to HARPA members. Each one gets photos of their team on the stand and of them talking to visitors, which they can use for their own marketing.

There was also a drinks reception in the exhibition hall, which gave me plenty of relaxed photos of members catching up.
